Special MotionPicture Association
Dear film-maker friends,
On behalf of the Hungarian Special Motion Picture Association, I’d like to present the following event to you.
Our association was formed in order to improve the quality of life of disabled people, psychiatric patients and people suffering from addiction with the help of the power of motion picture. The special event organized by us is called 8th Hungarian Disability Film Festival, which will be held in Budapest (Eötvös10 Communal and Cultural Stage) on the 7-9th of November 2022.
The main purpose of the survey is to present films created by people with disabilities, and also psychiatric and addicted persons to the public and professionals for evaluation. We would like to give more space and recognition to the unique films made by disabled people, so that way the audience can get acquainted with this often closed, yet excessively open world directly from within.
In order to subserve integration and acceptance, and to shed light on a different perspective, we welcome all independent film makers and creative groups who show the world of disabled people or have any kind of relation to them.
We find it important to initiate equal chances, therefore the professional jury will rate in three separate sections, i.e. disabled film makers, psychiatric and addicted persons, and films about people with disabilities created by independent film makers.
Entry of any kind of film is allowed, regardless of the year and length of production. There are no restrictions for films that were previously submitted on other events.
